We have a new team member! This week we would love to introduce to the newest member of our team, Katelyn!

Katelyn has previously worked in a Community Paediatric setting and has settled so well into the Sprout team. We couldn’t be more pleased to have her on board.

Katelyn Roffey

We sat her down to ask her the tough “Sprout Q&A”…

Favourite colour? Purple.

Sweet or savoury? Sweet until I make myself feel sick and have to take a break, then more sweet.

Curtains or ducks? You’re asking me to choose between function and fun when I think they should go hand in hand! Let’s go with ducks because they are great entertainment and very cute.

Summer or winter? Summer.

Favourite childhood memory? Going camping at Pt Leo with my family and our family friends. We would go every year in January and surf, play in the sand dunes, ride our bikes everywhere and have lots of BBQ’s.

Why did you become an OT?  Because I love socialising and helping people. In OT I get to talk to people all day and assist people them at the same time. I knew I wanted to work with kids and I was drawn to Paediatrics early on in my course.

Favourite childhood TV show? Hi-5 because I loved to dance along to all of their songs. I also loved Play School and Art Attack because I loved the creations they made.

Describe your ideal day? My ideal day would have consistent 28 degree weather and would be spent outside with family and friends. Tending to our garden, going for walks along the beach and lots of yummy good food!

Is there a quote you live by? There isn’t a single quote I live by because I believe different motivation and advice are required for each individual situation we find ourselves in. At the moment I do like to remind myself that “Success is a series of small wins” and it translates well to therapy sessions and the importance of celebrating all achievements, despite the size.

This picture has tended to be a reoccurring motivator for me and never ceases to make me smile.

Sprout started in 2006 what were you doing then? I was in high school, dancing, doing drama, learning to play the clarinet, making friends and talking on MSN with our dial-up internet.

If you were stuck on a desert island, what three things would you bring and why? A water filter, food with seeds, a puppy to keep me company.

If you could have three people over for dinner, who would they be and why? I would have my 2 brothers and best friend over. I really enjoy spending time with them all and there would be plenty of laughs and good banter. I’d be way too star struck having anyone super fancy or important over!

Thanks Katelyn, and a big welcome to the Sprout team!
